How It Works

1. Book a Free Consultation

Let’s schedule a time to determine if we’re a good match. This 20 minute call will allow me to hear more about you or your teen’s needs. We’ll discuss potential treatment goals and recommended approaches. You’ll also have the chance to learn more about me and my style as a therapist.

2. SET UP AN INTAKE APPOINTMENT

Since our initial conversation will be rather short, this first appointment will allow us to further explore your needs and hopes for therapy. I will ask questions about current stressors, relationships, history and goals. At the end of our time, we will discuss moving forward in our work together. This appoitnment can take place in-person (Newport Beach) or via telehealth.

3. MOVE FORWARD WITH TREATMENT GOALS

You are coming to therapy with goals that you’d like to work on. These goals don’t have to be set in stone - I will check-in with you periodically to determine if you believe you are making progress or if your goals have changed. I promise to show up to sessions with empathy, authenticity and gentle challenging when needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Each individual is so incredibly unique. Depending on what your needs and goals are, we can determine together how much therapy will be most beneficial to you or your teen. I am a collaborative therapist and will invite your feedback along the way.

  • I can meet with clients throughout CA via telehealth. On our consultation call, we will determine if online therapy is a good fit for you. For individuals living in Orange County, there is the option to meet in my office in Newport Beach. We can discuss what is most convenient for you.

  • The intake appointment is an opportunity for you to begin to share your story, feel validated and explore what you would like to change. The first session also allows us to explore if we are a good fit. We are establishing a relationship that will become the foundation for working together. If I determine that I may not be the best provider for your needs, I will provide you with referrals and further recommendations.

  • Before meeting with any minor, I require an initial assessment with the parent(s) or guardian(s). Then, I will meet with your child individually and begin developing a treatment plan. I do my best to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where teens can openly discuss their experiences. I work hard to maintain their confidentiality and will invite parents to sessions when it is clinically recommended.

  • No - it is not within my scope of practice as a Marriage & Family Therapist to prescribe medication. However, I have a referral network of many wonderful providers throughout Southern CA that can support you with medication management.

Insurance

I am not in network with any insurance providers however, many insurance policies do cover “out of network” benefits. I recognize working with insurance can be a hassle so I work with a company called Mentaya to better understand and maximize your benefits. Click on the link provided to see if you qualify. If you would prefer to manage super bills on your own, I can send them to you at the end of each month.

Please note that if you choose to submit claims to your insurance provider, I am required to assign you a mental health diagnosis. Ask me more on our consultation call!

forms of payment

Fees are collected in full at the time of service. Credit cards are stored on my secure electronic health records system. Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts can be utilized as well.

WHAT IF 50 MINUTES IS NOT ENOUGH?

If you are finding that you could benefit from an extended therapy session (i.e. 70 or 90 minutes), we can discuss options that align with both of our schedules. We will also review the adjusted session fee to reflect the increase in session length. These sessions can be consistently scheduled or can happen as needed. With enough notice, I can be flexible with scheduling. My primary goal is to support you by attuning to your needs throughout the therapeutic process.
